Life can present itself in many different forms and shapes, those can be altered by perspectives, giving a new meaning to something in the past and creating a new future.⠀

It can have infinite formulas, discussions and digressions, but what about life itself: Does it ever end?⠀

Coffer Loop recreates the Coffer Illusion in 3D for the first time. The Coffer Illusion has the capacity to fool our eyes and confuse the way we perceive forms and looking at the walls you can either see squares or lines with a circle in the middle.

The Coffer Illusion was created by Stanford University professor of psychology Anthony Norcia. The figure was published as one of best illusions in 2006 Best Illusion of the Year Contest, organised by the Neural Correlate Society.

Visual Development

I have conducted 9 visual experiments within Coffer Loop. When creating art, knowing when to stop is fundamental. In a certain aspect there are no limits to your creativity, one can always wander through different stages, back and forth, and add new elements.

Although this really blurs the line of where you want to get to, a good way to define your limits, is to simply push through them and then set back, this is what Coffer Lab is about: wild experiments to help a better understanding of where the line can be traced.

Each version of the Coffer Lab is available as animation on my Instagram Page: @freter
